Project Overview
For Lochemse Golfclub, the goal of this project was to visually translate the character, quality, and atmosphere of the golf course into a compelling photographic story. The images were created to strengthen the club’s brand identity, enhance member engagement, and support marketing and communication with guests, sponsors, and partners.
By approaching the course through a golfer’s eye, this project highlights the unique balance between sport, nature, and architecture that defines Lochemse Golfclub.
The photography Challenge
Every golf course has its own rhythm, light, and personality. The true challenge at Lochemse lies in capturing its dual soul:
the strategic rigor of the course design versus the tranquil hospitality of the Achterhoek region. Each season repaints the canvas; from the neon brilliance of spring to the deep, golden hues of autumn. The mission? To create images that don't just depict the course, but make you feel the adrenaline of a drive down the center.
THE APPROACH
As a scratch golfer, I experience the course not just as a photographer, but as a player. This perspective guided every decision during the shoot.
The photography sessions were planned around optimal light conditions—early mornings and late evenings—when shadows, contours, and textures reveal the true depth of the course. Careful attention was given to compositions that naturally guide the viewer’s eye toward the flag, reinforcing the essence of the game.
Environmental elements such as wind, clouds, and changing light were embraced rather than avoided, adding realism, tension, and atmosphere to each image.
The photographs are used across the club’s website, social media, and promotional materials, helping to attract new visitors, engage current members, and strengthen the club’s visual identity.
